Dr. Wan Daqian, MD, PhD, is Associate Chief Physician and Master’s Supervisor in Orthopedics (Joint Surgery) at Shanghai Tongji Hospital. He focuses on joint surgery and sports medicine. He performs shoulder and knee arthroscopy and total hip and knee arthroplasty. He was among the first to use stem-cell therapy for osteoarticular bone-defect disease. His surgical volume ranks among the highest in the region.
He has led 7 grants, including one NSFC General Project. He has published over 20 SCI papers. Some sources report over 30 SCI papers among more than 40 articles, with 8 in Q1 journals, a cumulative impact factor over 100, and a maximum impact factor of 12.153. He has served as a guest editor for multiple journals. He co-authored one monograph.
Credentials and awards: He was mentored by Academician Dai Kerong. He was a visiting scholar in biomedical engineering at UC Berkeley. He received the Shanghai “Super Postdoctoral” award. He is a researcher with the Key Lab of Spine & Spinal Cord Injury (MOE). His honors include the Heilongjiang Medical & Health New Technology Award (Third Prize) and the Harbin Medical & Health New Technology Application Award (First Prize).
