Prof. Dr. Halil Ibrahim Bekler was born in Istanbul in 1960. He completed his primary school education in Istanbul. He finished High School in Saint-Joseph in 1979. In 1985 he graduated from the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. In the same year, he started to work as a resident doctor at Tokat Akbelen Health Center. Between 1987 and 1991, he specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology at SiSli Etfal Hospital. Between 1993 and 1994, he worked as an assistant professor at Dicle University Faculty of Medicine in Diyarbakır, Turkey. Later, he worked as the Head of the Orthopedic and Traumatology Surgery Department at American Hospital. In 1999, he studied microsurgery at Cleveland Medical Center.
He worked as a specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology Microsurgery in many private hospitals in Istanbul. Between 2006-2007, he worked as a Hand and Microsurgery Specialist at Columbia University School of Medicine. In 2008, he became an associate professor of orthopedics at Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine. Between 2009 and 2015, he worked as Chief of Orthopedics at Lütfi Kırdar Kartal Hospital and he trained many Assistant Specialists. He became Professor in 2016.

He performs orthopedic microsurgery procedures at Avicenna Atasehir Hospital and offers effective treatments for knee and hip prostheses in the field of Orthopedics and Traumatology.

Dr. Hayrettin Kesmezacar is an orthopaedic surgeon at Gayrettepe Florence Nightingale Hospital in Istanbul. He joined the hospital in 2013 and holds a current appointment from 2024. His clinical focus includes shoulder and elbow surgery, shoulder instability, rotator cuff tears, and orthopaedic trauma.

He became Professor at Bilim University Medical Faculty in 2011. He was appointed Associate Professor at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa in 2006. His training includes residency and fellowship at Cerrahpaşa in 1997 and 2000. He completed visiting fellowships at Cornell HSS in 2004 and Western Ontario/LHSC in 2009. He holds a CRA certificate from Oxford College (2024). As of 2024, he serves as a CRA at Mount Sinai Hospital ICU Research (iCORE).

He has peer-reviewed publications in J Shoulder Elbow Surg, Acta Orthop Traumatol Turc, Arthroscopy, and others. His work includes a 22.4-year follow-up study on displaced supracondylar humerus fractures. He also reported 6-year outcomes for hallux valgus.
