Di bawah pengawasannya, Pusat ini, salah satu pusat MAR terkemuka di Italia, melakukan lebih dari 1.000 prosedur per tahun. Ospedale Santa Maria - menempati posisi pertama untuk jumlah siklus IUI, inseminasi intrauterin (586) - teknik tingkat I, sedangkan untuk jumlah prosedur pencairan oosit - teknik tingkat II dan III - rumah sakit Santa Maria dari Bari menempati posisi ke-4 dalam peringkat nasional.

Pada tahun 1986 Dr. Totaro lulus dalam bidang Kedokteran dan Bedah dari Universitas Bari, Italia dengan nilai sempurna, di mana 4 tahun kemudian beliau mengambil spesialisasi di bidang Ginekologi dan Obstetri.
