Ia lulus dari Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Istanbul Cerrahpaşa pada tahun 2001. Ia menyelesaikan pendidikan spesialisnya di Departemen Neurologi Fakultas Kedokteran Istanbul pada tahun 2006. Pada tahun 2006, ia bekerja di Klinik Neurologi dan PharmaZentrum Research Center dari Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Basel, Swiss. Antara tahun 2007 dan 2011, ia bekerja di Prof. Dr. Mazhar Osman Rumah Sakit Pelatihan dan Penelitian Kesehatan Mental dan Penyakit Saraf Bakırköy di Klinik Neurologi ke-3 dan di poliklinik Demensia dan Gangguan Gerak. Prof. Dr. Salih Murat İmer is a neurosurgeon with over 30 years of experience. He founded and led the Neurosurgery Department at Okan University Hospital. He has written 68 scientific articles and contributed to 9 book chapters. Dr. İmer has also presented at 33 international congresses, showing his influence in neurosurgery worldwide.
