Dr. Sertkaya lulus dari SMA Sains Konya Meram pada tahun 2001 dan masuk Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Gazi pada tahun yang sama, lulus pada tahun 2008. Dia menyelesaikan spesialisasi urologinya di Rumah Sakit Pelatihan dan Penelitian Haydarpaşa Numune pada tahun 2014, menjadi spesialis urologi.

Sejak menjadi spesialis, dia fokus pada sub-bidang Andrologi, menghadiri berbagai sesi pelatihan dan konferensi serta melakukan operasi bersama beberapa profesor Andrologi terkemuka dunia.
