Assoc. Prof. Ayşe İrem Yasin, M.D., is a medical oncologist who specializes in solid tumors. Her clinical focus includes breast, lung, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, and urologic cancers. She also treats brain and other CNS tumors, soft tissue sarcomas, head and neck cancers, adenocarcinomas, melanoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, and cancers of unknown primary. Dr. Walter Klepetko is a Professor and Head of the Division of Thoracic Surgery at MedUni Vienna and Vienna General Hospital. He is an expert in thoracic surgery, lung transplantation, surgery for bronchial carcinoma, and pulmonary hypertension.

He founded one of the world’s largest lung transplant programs. His team performs over 100 lung transplants each year. In 2018, Dr. Klepetko led the team that performed Niki Lauda’s lung transplant. He is a former president of the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery. He also serves on the board of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery.

Dr. Klepetko has received the Grand Decoration of Honor for services to the Austrian Republic. He was also awarded the City of Vienna Prize for Medical Sciences for his medical and scientific contributions.

Dr. Arnulf Ferlitsch is a specialist in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and hepatology. He completed his medical studies in Vienna in 1998. He continued his training at top institutions, including UCLA and the University of Pennsylvania. From 2000 to 2010, he focused on internal medicine, gastroenterology, hepatology, and intensive care.

Dr. Ferlitsch has received several research awards, such as the UEGW Best Abstract Award (2003, 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012), the Ferring Prize, and the Skoda Prize. He founded the hepatic hemodynamics laboratory and the liver cirrhosis outpatient clinic at the Medical University of Vienna. Since 2018, he has led the Department of Internal Medicine I at the Hospital of the Barmherzigen Brüder in Vienna.

Dr. Josef Grohs is an experienced orthopedist who specializes in spine surgery. He has over 30 years of clinical practice. Dr. Grohs earned his medical degree from the University of Vienna. He also holds diplomas in Clinical Investigation and Manual Medicine. He received his specialist diploma in Orthopaedic Surgery in 1998 and completed his habilitation in 2006.

Dr. Grohs has served as Deputy Chief of the Spine Unit at the Medical University of Vienna. He has chaired AO-Spine Austria since 2015. From 2009 to 2011, he was President of the Austrian Spine Society. Dr. Grohs has performed surgeries in several countries, including Ghana and Kenya. Dr. Irene Marthe Lang is a leading cardiologist and vascular surgeon at Vienna General Hospital (AKH). She is also a Professor at the Medical University of Vienna. Dr. Lang introduced Austria’s method for widening narrowed pulmonary vessels. She leads research in cardiopulmonary medicine, hemodynamics, and vascular interventions.

Dr. Lang graduated with highest honors, “sub auspiciis praesidentis.” She received national recognition, including an honorary order for her services to Austria in 2016. She leads research teams and manages a modern catheter laboratory. Dr. Lang is known for her work in pulmonary hypertension, vascular biology, and myocardial regeneration.

Dr. Josef Grohs is an experienced orthopedist who specializes in spine surgery. He has over 30 years of clinical practice. He received his medical degree from the University of Vienna in 1986. He also completed advanced training in clinical examination, manual medicine, and clinical monitoring. Dr. Grohs holds a habilitation in orthopedics and has been a certified orthopedic surgeon since 1998.

He is the Chair of AO-Spine Austria and serves on the Advisory Board of the Austrian Spine Society. He was President of the society from 2009 to 2011. Dr. Grohs has performed surgeries in several countries. He is a core reviewer for the Spine Society of Europe and has published many articles in his field. His leadership and knowledge have improved orthopedic and spine care in Austria and internationally.

Dr. Sebastian Schoppmann is an expert in general and visceral surgery. He specializes in upper gastrointestinal procedures. He leads the Gastroesophageal Tumor Unit at the Comprehensive Cancer Center Vienna. He also heads the gastric and esophageal surgery team at the Medical University of Vienna.

Dr. Schoppmann has published over 240 scientific articles. He is the General Secretary of the Austrian Society of Surgical Oncology. He has served as editor or associate editor for several respected medical journals. He is known for his achievements in surgical oncology and cancer research.

Professor Marek Ehrlich is a cardiac surgeon at University Hospital Vienna. He has led the hospital’s aneurysm program since 2010. He graduated from the Medical University of Vienna and specializes in cardiac surgery. He has also trained internationally at Stanford, Birmingham, Houston, and Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.
