Kekhawatiran terbesar saya sebelum perjalanan adalah biaya tambahan yang tidak terduga, dan sayangnya kekhawatiran itu memang beralasan. Biaya tambahan yang harus saya keluarkan untuk dua sesi drainase limfatik, satu suntikan antitrombosis untuk penerbangan pulang, dan makan di hotel berjumlah 450€. Oleh karena itu, saran saya bagi pasien di masa mendatang adalah: Pastikan untuk mengklarifikasi biaya tambahan yang mungkin timbul. Terlepas dari itu, dokter bedah saya sangat hebat. Ia menandai area yang akan dioperasi dengan sangat teliti, yang membuat saya merasa percaya diri. Pada prosedur sedot lemak Vaser, lebih dari 4 liter lemak telah diangkat, dan proses pemulihan sejauh ini berjalan sesuai harapan. Klinik tersebut memberikan dukungan yang baik setelahnya, selalu dapat dihubungi, dan memberikan panduan perawatan pascaoperasi yang jelas. Ruangan-ruangannya tidak terasa sestereil di Jerman, tetapi perawatan medisnya sangat baik. Para perawat juga selalu berusaha untuk mengobrol dengan saya meskipun ada kendala bahasa. Untungnya, saya punya Google Terjemahan.
Dijanjikan akan ada konsultasi awal yang mendetail, tetapi tidak terlaksana. Keberadaan penerjemah di tempat akan sangat membantu. Saya menyarankan untuk menginap lebih lama, setidaknya selama 10 hari. Perjalanan pulang saya sama sekali tidak menyenangkan. Selang drainase luka dicabut pada hari keberangkatan meskipun cairan luka masih diproduksi dalam jumlah yang terlalu banyak. Setibanya di Jerman, saya langsung pergi ke ruang gawat darurat untuk memastikan tidak ada komplikasi yang lebih parah.

Bagian terbaiknya adalah melihat garis-garis di leher saya sudah menghilang. Itu merupakan keberhasilan besar. Namun, kliniknya sendiri sangat mengecewakan dan tidak sebanding dengan kualitas tim medisnya, itulah sebabnya saya tidak bisa memberikan penilaian keseluruhan yang lebih tinggi. Pemulihan adalah sebuah proses; leher saya terasa nyaman dan kencang, dan bekas sayatan saya masih cukup merah, sementara pakaian kompresi yang harus dipakai terus-menerus menjadi bagian yang paling menantang. Yang paling saya khawatirkan adalah bagaimana proses pemulihannya nanti dan seberapa sakitnya. Untungnya, semuanya ternyata cukup bisa ditoleransi.
