Antanas Mickevičius is the lead bariatric and upper GI surgeon at Lithuanian University of Health Sciences hospital Kauno Klinikos (Kaunas, Lithuania) as well as works as consultant bariatric surgeon at Royal Stoke university hospital (Stoke on Trent, UK). Dr. Mickevičius trains other surgeons in the field of laparoscopic and bariatric surgery, is a member of Lithuanian Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery, European Society of Surgical and International Federation of Surgery for Obesity (IFSO).

Originally trained in bariatric surgery at the Sahlgrenska university hospital (Gothenburg, Sweden), he underwent further advanced bariatric surgery training at Whittington hospital (London, UK). Antanas Mickevičius currently works as a consultant for upper GI and bariatric surgeries in Lithuania and United Kingdom. He conducts regular bariatric surgeries in both countries and personally ensures the highest standards of safety, the best quality of preoperative preparation and postoperative follow up.
