Prof. Dr. Makbule Eren is an expert in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology with more than 20 years of experience. She founded and led the Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department at Eskişehir Osmangazi University. Her work has helped improve pediatric digestive health in Turkey.
She became an Associate Professor in 2011 and was promoted to Professor in 2016. Dr. Eren expanded her knowledge in motility and swallowing disorders as a guest professor at Columbia University’s Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in New York.
She is known for her skill in minimally invasive pediatric endoscopy. Dr. Eren has performed many diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. She is a founding member of the Eskişehir Celiac Life Association. She speaks English and German, which helps her care for international patients. Dr. Eren currently works at Istinye University and Liv Hospital.

• She Graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1997;
• Pediatrics residency in Hacettepe University İhsan Dogramacı Children’s Hospital,
Ankara between 1997-2002.
• Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition training in the same institute
between 2002 and 2004.
• She became an associate Professor in 2011 and Professor in 2016.
Experience
• She Served as Assistant Professor in Baskent University between years 2002-2004
• She set up the Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department in Eskisehir
Osmangazi University Faculty of Medicine in Eskisehir and maintained an active
clinical practice as the chair of this department between years of 2006-2019.
• She attended to a programme on motility and swallowing disorders in children at the
“Columbia University Presbyterian Morgan Stanly Children’s Hospital in New York as
a guest professor in 2014.
• She is one of the founders of “Eskisehir Çölyakla Yaşam Derneği”
• She is involved in all aspects of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and
Nutrition, skilled in diagnostic/therapeutic pediatric endoscopy, application of
minimally invasive techniques.
• She currently serves as Professor in Pediatric Gastroenterology in Istinye University
and Liv Hospital.
