• 1978-1985 - Medical Faculty of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt;
• 1985-1986 - Captain of military service in the military hospital, Giessen, Germany;
• 1986-1987 - resident at the German Heart Center in Munich;
• 1988 - Research Fellow at Michael Reese Hospital, Department of Cardiology, Chicago;
• 1989 - Research Fellow at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Virginia, USA;
• 1989 - Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, USA;
• 1998-2004 - cardiologist at the Friedrich-Alexander University Hospital and the 2nd Medical Hospital in Erlangen, Germany;
• 2005 to present - Director General of the European Centre for Prevention;
• 2007-2010 — private cardiology practice, Duisburg, Germany;
• From 2010 to present – private cardiology practice, Dusseldorf, Germany.

Scientific activity

Professor Uwe Nixdoff has written 62 publications in scientific journals, presented papers at 154 scientific congresses and symposia. The doctor has 18 awards in the field of medicine.
