Sejak Januari 1993, Dr. Totaro memegang peran sebagai Koordinator dari Pusat MAP (Pembuahan yang Dibantu Secara Medis) dan Pusat Ultrasonografi Obstetri-Ginekologi di Ospedale Santa Maria di Departemen Maternal dan Anak. Di bawah pengawasannya, Pusat ini, salah satu pusat MAR terkemuka di Italia, melakukan lebih dari 1.000 prosedur per tahun. Ospedale Santa Maria - menempati posisi pertama untuk jumlah siklus IUI, inseminasi intrauterin (586) - teknik tingkat I, sedangkan untuk jumlah prosedur pencairan oosit - teknik tingkat II dan III - rumah sakit Santa Maria dari Bari menempati posisi ke-4 dalam peringkat nasional.

Pada tahun 1986 Dr. Totaro lulus dalam bidang Kedokteran dan Bedah dari Universitas Bari, Italia dengan nilai sempurna, di mana 4 tahun kemudian beliau mengambil spesialisasi di bidang Ginekologi dan Obstetri.
