Dermabrasi di Dr. Nelson Chaves

Dr. Nelson Chaves runs a private plastic surgery practice in Bogotá, Colombia. The practice operates from a single facility in the Centro Médico Dalí. It focuses entirely on surgical and non-surgical aesthetic transformations. Dr. Chaves personalizes each surgical plan based on individual anatomy and aesthetic goals.

Professional Accreditations and Expertise

The practice follows strict medical standards through official Colombian health registrations. Dr. Chaves is a certified member of the Sociedad Colombiana de Cirugía Plástica, Estética y Reconstructiva (SCCP). His credentials are verified through ReTHUS, the National Single Registry of Human Talent in Health.

Dr. Chaves graduated from the National University of Colombia in 1996. He completed his specialization at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and holds membership in the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS). He regularly attends national and international medical congresses to stay current with global techniques.

Facial and Body Plastic Surgery

The clinic offers surgical interventions for the face and body. For rhinoplasty, the approach depends on complexity. Internal incisions work for simple corrections, while open rhinoplasty suits complex cases. Facial surgery options also include eyebrow lifting and implants for the chin, cheeks, and mandibular angle.

Body contouring procedures at the practice include:

• Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) to remove excess skin and repair abdominal muscles
• Liposuction and high-definition liposculpture
• Gluteal surgery using silicone implants or fat transfer
• Calf augmentation with specialized implants
• Vaginal rejuvenation and scar correction

For breast procedures, the clinic provides augmentation with silicone implants, breast lifts, and reduction. Dr. Chaves also treats gynecomastia (male breast enlargement) for grades 1 through 3. This procedure restores a masculine chest contour through surgical reduction.

Minimally Invasive and Aesthetic Medicine

The practice offers non-surgical rejuvenation for patients who want to address volume loss or aging without extensive downtime. These treatments target facial harmony using injectables and advanced laser technologies. They work well for mild skin laxity or as an alternative to surgery.

Aesthetic medicine services include:

• Laser endolifting using optical fiber to treat mild-to-moderate skin laxity
• Botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid fillers
• Facial fat injections (lipoinjection) to restore lost volume
• Rhinomodulation to temporarily improve nose shape without surgery
• Laser lipolysis for targeted fat reduction with enhanced skin retraction

The surgical team uses Z-Plastia and W-plastia for scar correction. These techniques change the direction of scars so they blend with natural skin texture. Over time, this makes scars significantly less visible and smoother.

Support and Rehospitalization Services

Each patient receives a care plan known as Tratamiento Integral. This includes advice from nutrition professionals who create exercise and eating plans. These steps help patients maintain long-term results after body contouring or weight loss procedures.

International patients benefit from a dedicated Health Tourism workflow:

• Airport reception and transfer to the hotel
• Accompaniment for pre-operative exams
• Initial in-person consultations with Dr. Chaves and the anesthesiologist
• Continued follow-up support throughout recovery
• Online virtual evaluations for patients still in their home countries

Patients should arrive in Bogotá at least 72 hours before surgery. This gives the body time to adapt to local conditions and ensures all preoperative tests are complete. After surgery, the clinic provides structured guidance, including early mobilization protocols for a safe recovery.
