Our interventional pain medicine programme is for people with persistent neck or back pain that has not improved with physiotherapy, medication or time — and who want a structured, evidence-based pathway that does not begin with spine surgery.
The programme is delivered by pain medicine physicians using image-guided, needle-only techniques. Every treatment is targeted: we first identify which structure is generating your pain, then treat that structure precisely — rather than offering the same injection to everyone.
Depending on your assessment, your individualized plan may include:
Diagnostic medial branch block — a precise test injection that confirms whether the small facet joints of the spine are the true pain source before any longer-acting treatment
Medial branch radiofrequency ablation (RF) — heat treatment of the small nerves supplying painful facet joints, considered when a diagnostic block confirms the source; relief in suitable patients can be longer-lasting than repeated injections
Facet joint injection — steroid, PRP or prolotherapy options, selected case by case
Cervical epidural steroid injection (ESI) — for selected nerve-root-related neck and arm pain
Selective cervical nerve root injection — both diagnostic and therapeutic for pinpointing the affected nerve
Trigger point injection — for focal muscular pain generators
All procedures are image-guided and needle-only: no incision, no implant, no general anaesthesia required for most treatments, and same-day discharge for most patients. Because the diagnostic step comes first, you avoid paying for — and undergoing — treatments aimed at the wrong structure.
