Prof. Zvi Cohen is Director of the Neurosurgery Department and the Neuro-Oncology Unit at Sheba Medical Center. He is a neurosurgeon and neuro-oncology expert. He was included in Forbes Israel’s Best Doctors 2025. He leads clinical research on drug therapies for malignant brain tumors. He also founded Sheba’s brain tumor tissue bank.

He is board-certified in neurosurgery. He trained at Tel Aviv University. He completed fellowships in neuroradiology at Beth Israel and in neurosurgical oncology at MD Anderson. His practice covers complex brain, pituitary, spine, and spinal cord tumors. He has expertise in stereotactic biopsies, image-guided resections, intraoperative MRI, navigation systems, and radiosurgery. He is a member of the Society for Neuro-Oncology and the Israeli Association of Neurological Surgeons.

Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sait Buğdacı is a highly experienced physician specializing in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He completed his medical education and specialty training at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine and Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital. His clinical interests include gastrointestinal diseases, endoscopic procedures, and clinical research. He has contributed to medical education through numerous scientific publications and textbooks and currently sees patients at Central Hospital.

Dr. Yaacov Lawrence, MA, MBBS, MRCP, is Chair of Radiation Oncology at Sheba Medical Center. He has nearly 30 years of experience in precision radiation oncology and neuro-oncology.

He is an expert in advanced radiation therapy and radiosurgery. He performs stereotactic radiosurgery for brain tumors. He leads Sheba’s GI Cancer Program in gastrointestinal oncology. He also provides precision care for lung and prostate cancers. He pioneered celiac plexus radiosurgery for severe pain from pancreatic cancer.

Training and credentials: MA and MBBS (Cambridge and UCLH); MRCP (RCP); Radiation Oncology fellowship (Thomas Jefferson University). Honors include the ASCO Young Investigator Award and Fellow of ASTRO (FASTRO). He has authored over 280 publications. He is Director of the Center for Translational Radiation Oncology and an Associate Professor at Tel Aviv University.

Dr. Eytan Aharon Ben‑Ami, MD, is a Senior Physician in the Sarcoma and Bone Oncology Service at Sheba Medical Center. He heads the Oncology Division and the Early-Phase Clinical Trials Unit. He founded the Sheba Clinical Research Organization. He is an academic affiliate at Tel Aviv University.

He specializes in sarcomas and primary bone tumors, including soft tissue sarcoma, liposarcoma, leiomyosarcoma, and osteosarcoma. He leads Phase I trials in targeted therapy and immunotherapy. He designs personalized treatment plans for rare cancers. He also develops patient-centered programs, including pilots in advanced immunotherapy delivery.

He completed a fellowship in Sarcoma and Bone Oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Harvard Cancer Center. He has authored more than 40 publications on early detection, molecular and viral mechanisms, and new cancer therapies.

Prof. Avichai Shimoni, MD, is Director of Bone Marrow Transplantation at Sheba Medical Center. He is a hemato-oncologist with over 30 years of experience in bone marrow transplantation, cellular therapies, and advanced blood cancer care.

He leads a high-volume program for complex, high-risk blood cancers. He performs allogeneic and autologous transplants. He also provides CAR T-cell therapy for leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. He completed a bone marrow transplantation fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

He is Chairman of Hematology at Tel Aviv University and a Professor of Hematology. He has authored more than 250 scientific papers. His research focuses on CAR T-cell therapy and stem cell transplantation. He is often listed among Israel's Best Doctors (Forbes 2025 and 2026).

Dr. Iris Kventsel, MD, is a pediatric hemato-oncologist and bone marrow transplant (BMT) specialist at Sheba Medical Center. She is an attending physician in the Pediatric Hemato-Oncology and BMT Division at the Edmond and Lily Safra Children’s Hospital. Her clinical focus is pediatric sarcomas, including Ewing sarcoma, osteosarcoma, and rhabdomyosarcoma.

She provides multidisciplinary care, including transplant and cellular therapies. She also uses current chemotherapy protocols and targeted therapies for complex childhood cancers.

Her research focuses on genetic cancer predisposition, including Li-Fraumeni syndrome, and cancer susceptibility genes. She has published in pediatric oncology, stem cell biology, and surgical oncology (HIPEC). She is on the academic staff at Tel Aviv University. Education: MD, Technion; Pediatrics residency, Assaf HaRofeh; Pediatric Hemato-Oncology fellowship, Sheba.

Dr. Boaz Liberman, MD, is an orthopedic oncologist and sarcoma surgeon for adults and children. He directs the Orthopedic Oncology Unit and serves as Vice Head of Orthopedic Surgery at Sheba Medical Center. His focus is limb-sparing cancer surgery with functional reconstruction. He performs complex joint reconstruction, revision arthroplasty, MRgFUS, and reconstruction after bone metastases.

Education and training: MD, Tel Aviv University. Orthopedic surgery residency, Sheba Medical Center. Fellowships in Adult Reconstruction at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, and in Orthopedic Oncology at Mount Sinai Hospital and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. He is board-certified in Orthopedic Surgery and in Orthopedic Oncology Surgery. He is a Clinical Instructor at Tel Aviv University. His research covers bone and soft tissue sarcomas, serum markers, imaging-guided therapies, MRI arthrography, and the biomechanics of bone treated with MRgFUS.

Dr. Hana Golan, MD, heads the Pediatric Hemato-Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT) Division at Sheba Medical Center. She specializes in childhood cancers, with a focus on neuroblastoma and other high-risk solid tumors.

She leads one of the region’s most advanced pediatric oncology programs. She manages complex, high-risk cases and practices at a hospital ranked in the global top 10.

She is the principal investigator of the High-Risk Neuroblastoma ESIOP protocol. She serves as an investigator in international Phase I/II trials and as the national coordinator of multicenter oncology protocols. She led the development of computerized chemotherapy protocols and patient databases to improve safety.

She earned her MD from the Technion. She completed residencies in pediatrics and pediatric hemato-oncology at Sheba. She conducted advanced research in transplantation immunology at the Weizmann Institute. She is board-certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology-Oncology. She is a Senior Lecturer at the Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University. Her research focuses on cancer stem cells, targeted therapies, treatment-resistant malignancies, and cannabinoid-related oncology.

Dr. Muhammed Mustafa Atci is an Associate Professor of Medical Oncology at İstinye University, Liv Hospital Topkapı (2025–present). He previously served as Associate Professor and Education Coordinator at Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşcıoğlu City Hospital (2023–2025). He was also a Medical Oncologist there (2018–2021).

He has been a member of ASCO and the Turkish Society of Medical Oncology since 2018. He is the author or co-author of 19 peer-reviewed international papers on colon, breast, gastric, pancreatic, lung, thyroid, sarcoma, and colorectal cancers.

Notable works include a multicentre study on stage IIB colon cancer survival (Journal of Chemotherapy). He also studied the De Ritis ratio for lung metastasis in testicular cancer (Current Urology). His prognostic studies used PET/CT, MSI, lymph node ratio, and metabolic tumor volume.

Dr. Hila Magen, MD, leads the Multiple Myeloma and Amyloidosis Unit at Sheba Medical Center. She is a hemato-oncologist with over 35 years of experience. She is a leading Israeli expert in multiple myeloma and plasma cell disorders.

She runs a program that provides personalized care and early access to clinical trials. This includes CAR-T therapy for high-risk and relapsed or refractory myeloma and amyloidosis. Dr. Magen is a principal investigator in point-of-care CAR-T studies. She brings new immunotherapies into routine care.

Dr. Amr Mahmoud Al Demery is a consultant thoracic surgical oncologist with 12 years of experience. He holds an M.B.B.Ch from Kasr El-Aini, Cairo University (2007). He earned a Master’s in Surgical Oncology in 2014 and a Doctorate in Surgical Oncology in 2019 from the National Cancer Institute, Cairo University. He is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MRCS, 2014). He speaks English and Arabic.

His practice includes the assessment, diagnosis, and surgical treatment of thoracic cancers. He performs bronchoscopy, thoracoscopy, and mediastinoscopy. He carries out lung resections, including wedge resection, lobectomy, bilobectomy, and pneumonectomy. He also performs esophageal resection with reconstruction and pleural decortication. His work includes thymectomy and mediastinal lymph node dissection. He performs chest wall and diaphragmatic tumor resection with reconstruction.

He served as Resident, Assistant Lecturer, and Lecturer of Surgical Oncology at the National Cancer Institute, Cairo University. He is a consultant in thoracic surgical oncology at Dar El-Salam, Tanta, Damanhour, and Shefaa Al Orman Cancer Centers. He is a member of the Egyptian Society of Surgical Oncology. He is a cofounder and member of the Egyptian Society of Respiratory Neoplasms.

Dr. Abraham Avigdor, MD, is Director of the Institute of Hematology and Co‑Director of the Hematology & Bone Marrow Transplantation Division at Sheba Medical Center. He is an international leader in lymphoma, CAR‑T, and advanced hemato‑oncology with more than 35 years of experience. His clinical focus includes lymphomas, multiple myeloma, and complex blood cancers.

He is a pioneer in CAR‑T integration. He leads cellular therapy and bone marrow transplantation programs (autologous and allogeneic). He also advances stem cell therapies and precision diagnostics, including PET/CT‑based prognostics. His work includes immunotherapy and targeted regimens and the development of innovative, data‑driven protocols.

He collaborates with LYSA, EMCL, and international PET groups. He has authored more than 130 publications. Key roles include Founder and President of the Israeli Lymphoma Working Group, former Chair of the Israeli Lymphoma Study Group, and Senior Lecturer at Tel Aviv University. Dr. Emad Shash, M.B.B.Ch, MSc, M.D., is a medical oncologist. He is the Medical Director of the Breast Comprehensive Cancer Hospital at NCI. He leads the Medical Oncology Department and is the Breast Program Director at Shifaa Al Orman Cancer Hospital in Luxor. His clinical focus includes breast, gynecologic, genitourinary, thoracic, gastrointestinal, and rare cancers. He specializes in systemic therapy, including chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy.

He served as coordinating research physician and medical lead at the EORTC from 2011 to 2015. Since 2008, he has contributed to more than 70 international oncology trials as a coordinator, sub-investigator, principal investigator, and sponsor medical monitor. Credentials include M.B.B.Ch (2004), MSc (2010), MD (2015), and the EORTC Certificate of Excellence (2015). He also holds a Diploma in Hospital Quality Management & Patient Safety (JCI/57357, 2017). He is a Fellow of the EIO. He is a member of ESMO (panel voting), ESGO, and ASCO (IAC), and serves on the ECRIN board.

Professor Jair Bar, MD, PhD, is a thoracic oncologist and Deputy Director of the Cancer Center at Sheba Medical Center. He leads the Thoracic Oncology Unit. He treats lung cancer, including advanced non-small cell cases. His care includes medical oncology, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy.

He runs a translational research lab focused on resistance to immunotherapy. He has published on exhaled-breath cancer metabolism and on angiogenesis inhibition in lung cancer.

He has chaired the Israel Lung Cancer Group since 2003. He is a member of the Israel Society of Clinical Oncology and Radiotherapy, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Association for Cancer Research. He is board-certified in Medical Oncology and Radiotherapy Oncology. He is a Senior Lecturer at Tel Aviv University.

Dr. Nir Kleinmann, MD, directs the Endourology and Kidney Stones Unit at Sheba Medical Center. He is an expert in minimally invasive urology and urologic oncology. His focus is the kidney and upper urinary tract. He was named among Israel’s Best Doctors for 2025–2026 by Forbes and ResultMed.

He is a pioneer of kidney‑sparing laser surgery. He uses a dual‑laser system with neodymium and holmium for complex tumors. His expertise includes UTUC, kidney and prostate cancer, kidney stones, and BPH.

Professor Raanan Berger, MD PhD, is a medical oncologist and radiotherapist. He is Director of the Cancer Center at Sheba Medical Center and heads its clinical research unit. He was listed in Forbes Israel’s “Best Doctors” (2025). He leads the genitourinary oncology program with a focus on prostate cancer. His care includes systemic therapy and radiotherapy in a multidisciplinary, patient-centered model.

He is board-certified in oncology. He earned his MD and PhD at Tel Aviv University and completed his clinical training at Sheba. He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Dana-Farber/Harvard, focusing on prostate cancer with Dr. Philip Kantoff and molecular oncology in Dr. William C. Hahn’s lab.
