Dr. Carlos Manuel Pollán Guisasola is a consultant ENT surgeon at Centro Médico Teknon and Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol in Barcelona. He specializes in endoscopic skull base surgery, head and neck oncology, and robotic surgery using the Da Vinci system. He earned his medical degree from the University of Santiago de Compostela. He completed his residency in Otorhinolaryngology through the MIR program at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital.

Dr. Pollán received advanced clinical training at the University of Pittsburgh and the University Hospital of Pisa. He leads the robotic head and neck surgery program at his hospitals. A specialist in the digestive system through MIR from the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Barcelona, he received his PhD from the University of Barcelona.

Dokter ini adalah Co-Ketua Grup GEICO dan anggota fakultas untuk Gyn-Track di European Society of Medical Oncology. Selain itu, dokter ini adalah anggota aktif ASCO, ESMO, dan SEOM.<\/p>

Dokter ini mengkhususkan diri dalam pengobatan kanker payudara dan endokrin, dengan fokus pada mengatasi resistensi terhadap terapi hormon selama penyakit adjuvan dan metastatik. Secara aktif terlibat dalam studi fase 1, 2, dan 3 untuk kanker payudara dan melanoma, dokter ini telah berkontribusi pada persetujuan obat baru, termasuk inhibitor cdk4/6 seperti palbociclib dan ribociclib untuk kanker payudara metastatik, dan perawatan imunoterapi seperti Pembrolizumab, Nivolumab, dan Ipilimumab untuk melanoma. Dokter ini adalah anggota dari Unit Kanker Payudara dan Unit Melanoma di Rumah Sakit Universitas Vall d’Hebron dan Institut Onkologi Vall d’Hebron.<\/p>

Dokter adalah seorang ilmuwan klinis dengan keahlian dalam penerapan klinis dari temuan laboratorium pada kanker payudara, berfokus pada ekspresi gen dan subtipe molekuler. Dokter merancang dan memimpin uji klinis untuk obat dan pendekatan baru di SOLTI, sebuah kelompok koperasi kanker payudara Spanyol.<\/p>

Setelah lulus dengan gelar MD dari Universitas Barcelona pada tahun 2003, dokter menyelesaikan fellowship onkologi medis di Institut Onkologi Vall d'Hebron dan penelitian pascadoktoral di Universitas Carolina Utara.<\/p>

Saat ini, dokter memimpin Kelompok Genomik Translasional dan Terapi Bertarget pada Tumor Padat di IDIBAPS dan merupakan Presiden Dewan Direksi SOLTI. Dokter telah ikut mendirikan Reveal Genomics dan memegang tiga paten.<\/p>

Dengan lebih dari 160 publikasi dan H-Index 51, dokter telah dikutip 13.479 kali dan telah menyampaikan 95 komunikasi secara internasional.<\/p>
