Dr. Lucía González Cortijo is a medical oncologist with more than 20 years of experience. She has led the Medical Oncology Department at Hospital Universitario Quirónsalud Madrid since 2020. Her focus areas include breast and gynecologic cancers. She also works in precision oncology, targeted therapies, and immunotherapy.

She has been Principal Investigator in more than 20 Phase II–III clinical trials. She has also served as sub-investigator in over 50 international trials. She previously worked at Quirónsalud Madrid from 2009 to 2020. Before that, she was at MD Anderson Cancer Center Madrid from 2002 to 2009.

She holds an MD and a PhD (cum laude) from the Autonomous University of Madrid. She completed her Medical Oncology specialty training at Hospital 12 de Octubre. She also earned a Master’s in Molecular Oncology. She is a member of SEOM, ESMO, ASCO, and GEICAM. She is a university lecturer.

Dr. Emad Shash, M.B.B.Ch, MSc, M.D., is a medical oncologist. He is the Medical Director of the Breast Comprehensive Cancer Hospital at NCI. He leads the Medical Oncology Department and is the Breast Program Director at Shifaa Al Orman Cancer Hospital in Luxor. His clinical focus includes breast, gynecologic, genitourinary, thoracic, gastrointestinal, and rare cancers. He specializes in systemic therapy, including chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy.

He served as coordinating research physician and medical lead at the EORTC from 2011 to 2015. Since 2008, he has contributed to more than 70 international oncology trials as a coordinator, sub-investigator, principal investigator, and sponsor medical monitor. Credentials include M.B.B.Ch (2004), MSc (2010), MD (2015), and the EORTC Certificate of Excellence (2015). He also holds a Diploma in Hospital Quality Management & Patient Safety (JCI/57357, 2017). Assoc. Prof. Ayşe İrem Yasin, M.D., is a medical oncologist who specializes in solid tumors. Her clinical focus includes breast, lung, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, and urologic cancers. She also treats brain and other CNS tumors, soft tissue sarcomas, head and neck cancers, adenocarcinomas, melanoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, and cancers of unknown primary. Prof. Ben Boursi is a physician in the Gastrointestinal Cancer Department at Sheba Medical Center. He specializes in internal medicine, medical oncology, and cancer epidemiology. He is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. He earned a B.Med.Sc (summa cum laude) and an MD (magna cum laude) from Tel Aviv University.

He completed clinical and research fellowships in GI oncology and cancer epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania. He also completed electives at MD Anderson and Mayo Clinic. He founded the ECOG-ACRIN Microbiome Working Group. His microbiome-oncology research has been published in leading journals, including Science, and highlighted by ASCO.

He developed predictive models for early diagnosis of colorectal and pancreatic cancers. These models are now in clinical evaluation. He holds an academic appointment at Tel Aviv University. He is also an Associate Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Yuri Goldes is a general surgeon with more than 20 years of clinical experience. He specializes in upper gastrointestinal and oncologic surgery. He is Deputy Director of the Department of General Surgery and Transplantation at Sheba Medical Center in Tel Aviv. He also leads the Upper GI Surgery Unit. He was named to Forbes Israel’s Best Doctors in 2025. He is ranked among Israel’s Best Gastrointestinal Surgeons by Forbes. In 2019, he received the Israeli Ministry of Health “Best Doctor of the Year” award.

He is an expert in advanced minimally invasive and robotic surgery. He treats diaphragmatic hernia, achalasia, GERD, and gallbladder disease. He also performs oncologic surgery for pancreatic, gastric, and esophageal cancers. He uses laparoscopic and robotic techniques.

He pioneered some of Israel’s first robotic oncologic resections of the stomach and pancreas. He is among a small group worldwide who perform minimally invasive Whipple procedures (pancreaticoduodenectomy) using advanced laparoscopy. Professor Raanan Berger, MD PhD, is a medical oncologist and radiotherapist. He is Director of the Cancer Center at Sheba Medical Center and heads its clinical research unit. He was listed in Forbes Israel’s “Best Doctors” (2025). He leads the genitourinary oncology program with a focus on prostate cancer. His care includes systemic therapy and radiotherapy in a multidisciplinary, patient-centered model.

Dr. Nir Kleinmann, MD, directs the Endourology and Kidney Stones Unit at Sheba Medical Center. He is an expert in minimally invasive urology and urologic oncology. His focus is the kidney and upper urinary tract. He was named among Israel’s Best Doctors for 2025–2026 by Forbes and ResultMed.
